World Zoroastrian Congress
As the Zoroastrian diaspora is geographically dispersed, we must make an active effort to stay connected and united. The World Zoroastrian Congress (WZC) was established in 1960 as the premier global Zoroastrian event, held once every four years.
The first WZC took place in Tehran in 1960, and Congresses have since been hosted in cities like Mumbai, London, Dubai, Perth, Houston, and New York City. The most recent Congress was held in July 2022 in New York City, drawing 1,200 participants from 16 countries. Attendees spanned all age groups, and included many children and a large contingent of young adults.
What Happens at WZC
Congregate and celebrate
A WZC brings Zoroastrians from across the globe together, to reconnect, make new friends, and enjoy shared celebrations. The atmosphere is festive, filled with interaction, fun, and meaningful connections.
Rejuvenate and elevate
The Congress celebrates the achievements of fellow Zoroastrians and encourages excellence across fields. Through panels, talks, and workshops, you'll hear from and connect with successful Zoroastrians in entrepreneurship, industry, media, the arts, academia, and more.
Learn, discover, and explore
For the curious mind, WZC offers deep insights into Zoroastrianism. From āZoroastrianism 101ā to community showcases, history sessions, and exhibitions of traditional crafts, thereās something to learn at every turn.
Shape the future of the community
WZC is also a space for reflection and dialogue. Community leaders, youth, and scholars gather for candid conversations on the challenges and opportunities we face ā leading to new initiatives that strengthen our identity, culture, and faith. If you want to make a difference, this is where your voice matters.
